I wouldn't worry until he starts singing "Me and my shadow" Then I'd run.
Shadows can be great company because that means there's a sunbeam present. But it can be lonely without brotherly comradeship. (is that a word?)
We like our shadows because they rarely try to eat our food. ;)

Thompson has found his shadow is often his closest friend. Still, he prefers the company of his brothers.
