Norma Jean

I think I’m going to have to change Norma’s middle name from “Jean” to “Don’t.” I say “Norma, don’t” a lot throughout the day.
 

Theo

Theo is definitely doing better. We switched to applying his medication by rubbing it in his ear. This method bypasses his digestion system so he hasn’t been throwing up as much and he’s eating all his meals more. He’s even moving faster than he has for over a year. I’m glad he’s feeling more like himself…
 

Stretched Out

I may need to get a bigger bed.
 

Abandoned Naps

Less and less they are coming downstairs to nap with me as I watch TV. But yesterday Norma and I took a long nap together and Alias eventually joined us. That felt nice…
 

Blanket Monster

Alias is being swallowed up by the blanket monster. He’s entirely OK with that.
 

Brotherly Concern

Alias is asking me why I can’t help his brother feel better…And I just wish I could.
 

Theo Update

Theo has spent the past two days throwing up multiple times. He tries to eat some but eventually he throws up what’s he’s eaten. I’ve stopped his thyroid medication again… I have found a wet food that he likes and will eat so hopefully I can get the vomiting to stop or become less frequent. Have a call into the vet to figure out what we try next…

I never have to search for Alias after he finishes his breakfast. His go to spot is to crawl underneath the covers on my bed.

Theo has learned he does not like his thyroid medication. He’s a quick learner when he needs to be.

Sweet Boy

Theo had another visit to the vet, this time with another vet who was much better at thoroughly checking him out and explaining things. Theo had his blood pressure checked and will resume a smaller dose of the hyperthyroidism medication that he took when he stopped eating. He was none too pleased to be snatched up and driven to the vet but at the end the vet tech said he was such a sweet cat. He cuddled next to her when she was taking his blood pressure. Yup, that’s my boy.

Family Ties

They came from a litter of six and it would be interesting to meet the other four now to see if they are as great as these two. They almost have to be…

 

Nothing to See

They had been unusually quiet for much of the morning so I went to check on them. Just hangin’ on their cat tree.
 

Theo Update

Theo’s been up and down. Some days he eats most of his meals. Other days he mostly nibbles. He’s off all the medication he was started on a few weeks ago and has a return trip to the vet this Thursday to figure out the best way forward. He’s never been a lap cat but the past few days he has made it known he wants me to pick him up and cuddle with him for a while. I wish I could do more for him…
