Ignored

I went to Twins games Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I had a ticket to Monday's game as well but I decided to stay home and spend some time over the long weekend with the boyz. I must have upset them with my unexpected absence. Diego-san didn't come down to watch TV with me and Theo only moseyed on down when it was lunchtime...

Passed the Test

Got the thyroid test results back from the vet. Thompson's levels are now normal so his medication is working. Great news although for him it's only so-so news. I think he might be feeling better (he's drinking less and eating more) but it also means having to take the pill every morning for the rest of his life.

So Long Marcel

My friend Amy had to let Marcel go yesterday. He'd been fighting some serious health issues the past year and it had gotten to the point where the treatment was just too stressful for him. The boyz and I (particularly Theo) are very very sad. I'm extremely glad I got to spend time with him last weekend...

Goodbye Marcel. You were a great one.

There must be something interesting down below because both Diego-san and whoever that cat is next to him seem mesmerized.

Rock n Roll

Just got a ticket to see Guns n Roses in July.  Theo's worried I won't be able to hear him after the show.

Amendment

There's that saying 'dance like no one's watching you.' Thompson has modified it some. His slogan is 'sit in the sun like no one is watching you.'

Theo's Doppelganger

Over the weekend I got to feed my friend Amy's three cats, Marcel, Leo and Fiona.  This is a picture of Marcel, sort of a smarter looking Theo.

Thompson's Vet Visit

Thompson was not a happy boy when I picked him up and put him in his carrier.  The drive to the vet takes about 10 minutes and he howled at the top of his lungs the entire time. This continued as we entered the lobby of the clinic and stood in line for five minutes.  He was quite good at getting the attention of all the dogs and people in the lobby.  We're supposed to get his test results back today...

Milestone

I just noticed that we've posted over 4,000 entries to our blog. The news thrilled the boyz.

Differing Points of View

Before Theo moved in, I hired a contractor to finish my unfinished attic into a master bedroom with a bathroom.  Theo is thankful that I build an entire wing of the house for him. Actually it was adding the additional space that convinced me there was room for another cat. And I'm thankful Theo is that cat.

Sleep a little, dream a little, eat more than a little, cuddle lots. That's the life of Diego-san.

Meds

I'm getting better at giving Thompson his medication every morning. He doesn't squirm in my arms and though I still have to pry his clenched jaw open, he doesn't seem angry at what I'm trying to do.  Once in a while later in the day I'll find a little pink pill lying on the carpet so we still aren't 100 percent successful, but it doesn't seem to be stressing him out anymore.  He gets tested again Friday...

Practice

Theo decided I don't take him seriously enough because of his sweet nature. Thus he is working on looking more menacing.

Flakes

Found a new treat that the boyz absolutely love- Japanese bonito flakes. I stumbled upon these accidentally as I was actually looking for them for my own diet. I remembered Iron Chef Michiba used to use them for his infamous "broth of vigor" on every episode of the show that he appeared.  Now that I have a pressure cooker, I decided to give them a try. My search on Amazon came across a seller selling them for cat treats. Sure enough, the boyz can't get enough. I still haven't tried them to create my own broth of vigor though...
