The Snooze Button

I rubbed his forehead, he stirred and yawned, and then went back to snoozing.

Play Ball!

Theo loves his playtime. He’ll retrieve certain toys and balls and lets me know it’s time to play.

All Ready

He’s ready to face the week as long as the week doesn’t interrupt his nap.

Oh No

This was one of Thompson’s favorite places to sleep. Theo was sleeping in it a lot of this past winter. The other day he peed in it so now we have to get rid of it. He had some peeing issues after Thompson died. I’m keeping a close eye on him to make sure there’s nothing physically wrong with him...

Up Close and Personal

I told Theo that if the camera got any closer it would be behind him.

Unexcused Absences

I’ve been going to a lot of Twins baseball games the past week, five in the past six days. Diego-San has noted my absence by waking me up early every morning trying to nuzzle his face against mine. I should be home most of the weekend and we’ll make up for lost time I’m sure with many quality naps together.

Toe to Toe

We’re comparing toes. Each of us agree the others are more interesting.

Perfect Weekend

It was a great weekend for Theo. He destroyed his catnip dynamite stick. His meals were plentiful, varied, and on time. He got a quality nap in Saturday evening. And he chased Diego-San up the stairs and caught him.

Seasonal Favorites

Diego-san’s favorite summertime activity is taking a nap. Coincidentally, it also happens to be his favorite autumntime, wintertime, and springtime activity.

Do Not Disturb

Note the claw. He’s relaxed but there is a definite warning about ruining his relaxation that he’s effectively conveying...

His Ask

I mean seriously. Whatever he wants he can have with a face like that.

Purple Pain

You can’t really see it well in this picture, but my ankle is turning purple. I got hit by a softball last week (learning it’s better to field line drives with your glove and not your leg). Theo’s never seen such a color. He’s impressed.

Home

Someone tried ignoring me but ultimately ended up snuggling uncontrollably. The other boy had no trouble letting me know he missed me by rubbing up against me constantly. Reason #4,092 that Diego-San looks down at Theo. The art of subtlety is lost on his younger brother.

That’s Right You’re Not From Texas

Visited the Texas State Capitol. Lovely dome. There were a lot of stairways in the Capitol. All I could think of was how much Theo would have loved racing up and down... Did I mention I miss my guyzos?

The View

This is the view from my hotel room window. It’s overlooking the atrium. I think the boyz would enjoy the view. I don’t think they would have enjoyed the flight down however.

Hurricane

Visited the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library which is about a mile and a half from my hotel. I decided to walk despite the mid-90 degree Texas weather. By the time I got to the LBJ library, I was soaked in sweat. I was glad I had a chance to visit however, not just because of the air conditioning, but because I learned a lot about President Johnson who probably advanced the cause of racial equality as much as any President not named Lincoln.

The weather did make me wonder why anyone would decide Texas was a great place to hold a conference in mid-July. It’s hot all over the USA this time of year. It’s supposed to be in the nineties with high humidity the next several days in Minnesota. But there is little chance that the heat won’t be stifling in Texas this time of year. Plus with Hurricane Barry hitting the coast yesterday, it was the closest I’ve ever been to a hurricane (with the possible exception of my two year college relationship with a girl named Tammy).

I did leave the air conditioner running at a cool temperature for the boyz.

Austin

Flew to Austin, Texas for a conference. As soon as the suitcase came out, Diego-San got really clingy. My flight didn’t leave until around noon so I spent the morning with the boyz. Diego-San spent most of it on my lap. I’m hoping to run into Sandra Bullock who lives down here. The boyz are hoping that someone will feed them their next meal.

Never a Dull Moment

It must be both wondrous and frustrating that every moment of every day is full of surprises.

How to Be Handsome

Tail perfectly curled, hindside slightly spiked, whiskers perfectly aligned. It’s not easy being Diego-San.

Love Means Zero

They didn’t let him into Wimbledon so he spent last night creating a racket.

I Got the Look

I don’t think I did anything to earn the stink eye. Perhaps he knows the suitcase is about to make an appearance...

Deja Vu

This picture is actually a couple months old. Coincidentally, it’s exactly what Diego-San is doing in the exact same spot as this gets posted.

Eeenie Meenie

Theo doesn’t get this day off, back to work, days off thing I’ve got going. To tell the truth, I don’t either.

July 4

Diego-San thought he start a brand new Fourth of July tradition. Sitting on the side of a piano. It’s a much quieter celebration than firecrackers and fireworks.

10 out of 10

Perfect leg extension. Nice touch with showing the pink toesies.

Improved Diet

I’ve begun feeding Diego-San store bought chicken. I pressure cook it unseasoned and he of course highly prefers it over any cat food he’s ever been fed. I think he’s actually put on some weight again and he seems to have more energy the past couple of days. I only wish I had tried this with Thompson a few years ago...
