DC Bound

The suitcase came out and Diego-San responded first by getting really clingy, and then by tearing up and down the stairs ending up on top of the piano in the living room. He was not a happy camper.

Loss

I’m a Minnesota Timberwolves season ticket holder. This causes me to be away from the boyz many winter nights, trying to enjoy our attempts at professional basketball, unsuccessfully most nights/seasons. I went to the latest loss, with the home team blowing a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter to the Sacramento Kings. There was a nice tribute inside and outside the arena to Kobe Bryant and his daughter. So sad.

Warning

Diego-San has marked the leg of my portable desk as his own. So don’t even think about taking it.

Lap Time

The past few weeks after dinner, Theo comes upstairs and waits to sit on my lap. This is new behavior but I’m all for it.

A Clue

Two of us need our rest this weekend. The third? Not so much. Wanna guess who’s who? I’ll give you a clue... The two belong to different species.

Home

I’m back home. My lil buddy is going to keep an eye on me from now on.

Unexcused Absence

The suitcase came out and the boyz are without their food guy for a few days. Protests noted.

Miser

The good news for the boyz wasn’t the three day weekend due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and my added presence. No, the good news was I turned up the thermostat to a reasonable temperature because it was freezing in the house.

A ton of snow followed by dangerously frigid temperatures. I think Diego-San has decided to hibernate.

We are supposed to get a foot of snow between Friday and Saturday. Winter is not my favorite season.

Someday

This is the bed Diego-San spends most of the day in. He and Thompson used to take naps together in it. Theo has never slept in it. I think he doesn’t think he’s ready for the big boyz bed.

Crazy

We’ve gotten an inch of snow each of the past two nights. This means getting up early to shovel the sidewalk and driveway before heading off to work. Of all the strange human behaviors, Diego-San thinks this is the strangest. Throwing the white stuff from one place to another in cold weather.

Evidence

This past year Diego-San not only allowed Theo to sleep in the same vicinity, he actually initiated some of the closeness. Yesterday after dinner I returned to our man cave to this scene. I knew Theo was in place first so Diego-San initiated this. And I have to say, it’s actual snuggling. We have a first!

Sunday

Our Sunday nap is one of our favorite times of the week. Always.

Nicknames

Two of Theo’s nicknames over the years have been “my little guy” (even though he now weighs close to twice as much as Diego-San) and “young fella” (even though he’s now 14 years old. I guess some names just stick with you.

Routine Interuptus

He’s all ready for the weekend and lots of napping. I haven’t had the heart to tell him I have to work Saturday morning.

Forecast

I told Theo 2020 is looking to be our craziest year ever. He can’t believe that’s possible.

Humbug

Diego-San thinks hump day is for the camels. Humph.

Got To Look Their Best

I don’t know... with all this self grooming going on in the house, I’m beginning to suspect the boyz are expecting someone important to visit soon.

Cleanup time for Diego-San. I trust the end result will be pristine handsomeness.

Last Laugh

Theo stepped in some vomit on the kitchen floor. He jumped five feet in the air. I had to chuckle. He had the last laugh however when I went upstairs and stepped on a fresh hair ball.

Love Hate

I noticed Diego-San had quite a few mats around his stomach area. So I spent extended time trying to remove them. Diego-San spent extended time trying to bite my hand.

Orbital Treats

I told Theo we just finished going around the sun 365 times. He thinks everyone deserves a well earned treat.
