Clubs
Those aren't such much paws as they are bear clubs. I've always let Diego-san know how impressive his massive paws are (and he has heard that from the veterinary staff as well).

His New Love
Theo is enamored with my new cervical traction device. I let him know however, he probably doesn't want to try using it since he doesn't even like being held down when I'm combing him...

Chores
Each of the boyz has been given a chore he is responsible for. Diego-san's job is to catch and get rid of any bugs that get in the house. Theo is to make sure when I get home all the towels are still hanging up on the towel racks. Thompson's responsibility is to make sure any vomit/hair ball is on tile or our wood floors and not on carpet or rugs.
His job duties have increased the last few years as his brothers both have seriously upped their hurling game. Yesterday morning as I was waking up I heard Theo coughing up a hair ball. Less than twenty seconds later Diego-san did the same thing. It was as close to synchronized barfing that's ever occurred in our house. And both boyz did this while sitting on our upstairs carpet.
Thompson was nowhere in sight.

Guitar Guardian
I thought Theo was dutifully guarding my guitars against any harm. Turns out he was guarding them from me to try to stop me from making such a racket.

Diego's Big Adventure
Diego-san had his annual visit to the vet last Friday (not pictured here as I forgot my phone). The news wasn’t so good. He’s down a pound and a half from last year. I knew he probably had lost weight because he rarely finishes his meals anymore and sometimes I have to bribe him with treats in order to get him to eat anything.
The vet wants to do more extensive testing which I will get scheduled in the near future. I also asked him to check Diego-san’s anal glands since those have been an ongoing issue the past few years. Sure enough they were plenty full and one of them was blocked. Hopefully having the glands expressed will help him feel better and improve his appetite. He also clearly now likes wet food more than his dry food so I’m going to try to feed him more and more of that. Both he and Thompson are 16 years old now so I knew the day of declining health was coming. Still, all this makes me very sad. I’ve really enjoyed my time with all of the boyz and hope there are many more days together in our future...

Forecast
The weather forecast for this weekend is for it to be extremely hot and humid. Sounds like the perfect weather to be lazy and nappy. Oh wait, that's usually the case around our house for any type of weather.

#MPRRaccoon
The other day a raccoon climbed up a building in downtown St. Paul that is about a dozen minute drive from our house. She made it up to the 23rd floor and perched herself on a window ledge and became a trending topic on Twitter. The raccoon finally worked her way up to the roof where they got her to go inside a trap that had cat food inside. I warned Theo not to get any ideas about climbing skyscrapers in hopes of getting a treat.
Mutually Equal Confusion
Theo is often confused by the behavior of his ape/oaf-food guy. His ape/oaf-food guy has to admit he is often equally confused by the behavior of his little tuxedo friend.

Limber Enough
Over the past several years, Thompson has lost his ability to jump up on high things. He however retains the ability to touch his nose to his leg.

Peonies
They only last for a few days but I love when the peonies in our front yard bloom. I love the color... The boyz seem indifferent.

Peace
I'm going to use this photo as a reminder to Diego-san the next time he complains to me about the unholy terror I brought into his house years ago. Peace can sometimes exist.

Mood Changer
Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood I just have to see something like this and I'm no longer in a bad mood.

Cat Imitation
Theo told me he's imitating the cat on the cat food box in hopes that it will lead to an extra meal. I pointed out to him that the cat on the box is not inside a recycling bag.

Needles
Thompson's blood work came back and his thyroid level is stable. It was diagnosed as being on the high end of normal so he's been taking medication for the past couple of years (which he's thrilled about). And he and I appreciated the comments left the other day about some food options... Thank you.
