More Crime?
The past two months I've gotten a copy of the Ladies Home Journal delivered to my house. Apparently I now have a subscription. Part of me is worried that this is some proof of identity theft activity. Another part suspects one of the boyz (ahem) is a prankster and signed me up. I like ladies as much as the next man but I don't think I'm going to find the magazine all too interesting...

Life in the Big City
I was at work the other day and noticed that a package that I had been waiting quite a while for, had finally been delivered to my house.
My route home actually makes me circle the front of my house to access the alley to my detached garage. I circled the house and saw the large package sitting on the front steps.
After I parked my car I walked to my house and saw a van parked out front. It is somewhat unusual for a car to park in front of my house when there are plenty of spaces further down the street where a couple businesses are located. I turned the corner to the front steps and saw a woman with my delivery in her arms. My trusting instinct led me to believe there was a perfectly logical explanation for why a stranger would have my package in her hands (so to speak). Then I saw the look of pure terror in her eyes as she froze in her tracks. I finally yelled, "What the f%$* are you doing?" With that she dropped the package and ran toward the van.
I ran after her but admittedly not full speed. Part of me was in shock, the other part was thinking, "What do I do if I catch her?" I slowed down and stepped in front of the van as she scrambled in. I saw a man sitting in the back seat. I thought about staying where I was because it would block her from driving off but it occurred to me she could just run me over... I looked for a license plate and there wasn't one in front so I ran to the back of the van as she pulled off. I tried memorizing the license plate number. A car that was driving up the street stopped and the woman inside asked if I was OK. I told her I was, thanked her, (thank goodness for the kindness of strangers) and ran into the house to call the police.
I gave the police the license number I thought I remembered. An officer called me back later in the evening to say the number didn't match anything in their database.
Theo was just glad he wasn't in the box the woman tried to steal.

Foot in My Mouth
Yesterday morning as I was getting ready for work walking on the kitchen tile and the living room hardwood floors in my stockings, I remarked, "It's so cold my feet are getting cold. I can't imagine what it's like for you guys because you have four feet to worry about..." Just as the words left my mouth I realized I had probably offended Thompson so I quickly added, "Well most of you do..." I offer my most sincere apology for my insensitive remark...

Butt Update
Diego-san seems to be fully recovered from his medical issue (I promised to limit the number of times I specifically mention what the actual condition was). Everyone in the house is glad Diego-san's charismatic personality is back in full force..

20 Below
The news is telling us next week will be the coldest week of what's been a pretty nasty winter... Some us faced the news with our chin's up; other's preferred the bury the head approach...

Pain in the Butt
It's been a rough few days for Diego-san. Over the weekend I noticed he was doing a lot of licking, um 'downstairs' in his nether region. This usually means there's an issue with his anal glands so I made an appointment at the vet. He endured the trip like a trooper and we were told his glands are infected. So he was given some antibiotics and pain medication that he's been given every 12 hours. (And I have plenty of scratches on my hands and arms to prove it). I must say I appreciate him being so forgiving- usually five minutes after the medications have been given he's up in my lap purring away...

Sol's Protector
Did some vacuuming this morning but Diego-san was not going to let the monstrous sucky thing suck up his sun.

Well This is New
I started a new fitness program that was designed for me by a trainer. Theo isn't quite sure what to make of such huffing and puffing, arms flailing one way, legs flailing the other, and curse words muttered. That said, his concern hasn't prevented him from trying to join in on the fun.

No More Winter
Diego-san is devising a plan to guarantee whether that stupid groundhog sees his shadow this year or not...

Tough Day Ahead
Today's big decision is whether to flip over and rest on the other side. Thompson doesn't want to make the decision too hastily.

Why It's Been So Cold
Psssst... I was just joking when I said I thought the earth had broken out of its orbit and was hurtling away from the sun...

The Look
This is Thompson's "Seriously if you aren't going to get any housework done then the least you can do is put the camera away" look.

Who Da Boss
Diego-san decided he wasn't going to take our colder than Mars temperatures lying down (well sort of).

The Frozen Tundra
It has been extremely cold in our part of the world for several days now. Every winter I annoy everybody around me with the question, "so why do we live here?" People usually just shake their heads and chuckle. I think Diego-san wants a serious answer...

Diego-san's 2014 Wishes
Diego-san has three wishes for the new year:
1) Everybody has a safe and healthy year;
2) Everybody will try to have a little understanding that being as handsome as he is has its difficult moments;
3) Oh, and world peace.
