The Landlord's Blessing

On occasion Diego-san lets me know that it is OK that I let Thompson and Theo share his house.

Moving Pillows

Theo thinks the only thing more relaxing than a lazy Sunday afternoon in the sun would be to have a brother around to use as a pillow.

Couch Potatoes

Thompson isn't sure what these 'couch potatoes' are that I keep talking about.  He's indicated however that he'd love to sample some because they sound delicious.

Very Superstitious

Last week I told Diego-san the superstition about Friday the 13th being bad luck and also the superstition about black cats being bad luck.  He decided he wanted to start a new superstition- Friday the 20th is good luck and black cats are great luck.

Correction

Thompson complained that this blog makes it appear that all he ever does is sleep.  He wanted me to clarify that he only sleeps 22 hours a day.

Follow Up Post

Our boulevard ash tree was removed about month and a half ago. Just like I anticipated, it must have been quite the racket and commotion because all three of the boyz were pretty wound up when I got home from work. This morning I was home later than normal because I had a doctor appointment before work.  I was trying to enjoy a quiet morning with the boyz and my morning coffee when the most awful noise started up.  It was the city removing the tree stump from the boulevard.  The good news is I got a note informing me that a hackberry tree is going to be planted to replace the removed ash tree.  The good news for the boyz is apparently hackberry trees are good at attracting birds.  And planting a tree won't be very loud.

Stress Too

Thompson and Diego-san's annual visit to the vet is just as stressful for Theo.  It's the only time of the year he is left entirely own in the house and for such a social little guy, that's gotta be challenging.  I was glad to see when the three of us got back from the vet, our house was still standing.

Sharing the Pain

Thompson and Diego-san had their annual trip to the vet yesterday.  Both came out of the ordeal no worse for the wear, for the most part. Thompson was his usual vocal self letting everyone within earshot know he wasn't happy with the disruption to his busy schedule.  I felt bad at how nervous he was, lying on the cold metal exam table waiting for the vet, he was shaking like a little bunny.  He did lose little weight this past year, and not that I'm making any accusations about food theft but coincidentally Diego-san's weight went up almost the exact same amount that Thompson lost.

The bad news for Diego-san however was I asked the vet to check his anal glands because he has been doing a lot of cleaning "down there" recently.  Sure enough she said she had never seen anal glands so full on any animal before.  It's not exactly a record we're jumping for joy over however.  It means he's going to have to go in on a regular basis to have the glands expressed.  The vet even has an every sixth anal gland cleaning visit is free visit program that we will likely sign up for...

It's with a very heavy heart that I read of the very sad news from our neighbors to the west.  The boyz and I will miss you Scooby.  We are thinking of you and your family.
