I'm not sure the history behind the superstition that Friday the 13th is a day for bad luck.Likewise I'm not sure how crossing the path of a black cat means something bad is going to happen.
I do know I have two black cats in my house that I'm entirely lucky to know.

My family is Irish and they have a long litany of superstitions. Sadly, I was taught these superstitions and live by them much to my chagrin. I have really tried to ignore them, but they always seem to win out and the next thing you know I am reciting some ludicrous saying to ward of evil - ahhhh.....what to do : )
