Thompson's test results came back and his thyroid tested on the high end of normal. The vet said that typically cats with hyperthyroidism tend to eat a lot and still lose weight. Thompson has been skipping meals on a regular basis for several months. Not sure what to do next...

Sending purrs Thompson's way!
I do not have any suggestions but I certainly am sending tons of good get well wishes to sweet Thompson.

You probably already did a full blood panel to check for other common diseases of aging cats like diabetes, kidney disease, cancer, etc. You might try a higher calorie food like vet-prescribed Science Diet AD. Is his stool normal?
We're purring for Thompson. What has the vet suggested?
I was going to say the same thing as The Island Cats. I would do whatever it is the vet suggested. Sending purrs.
I also wondered if his poop is "normal". Could he have irritable bowel?
