Big day… Theo, Alias and Norma had appointments for their annual visits to the vet. I’ve been trying to get Theo in for the past six months but he was placed on a waiting list. So when the clinic called to schedule Norma and Alias, I made sure Theo was included too. I know he hasn’t been feeling well for quite some time. His eye has been watering and his nose is runny. He’s having a harder and harder time walking and there are days he doesn’t eat.
Theo’s appointment was early in the afternoon. The clinic moved into a new location, a new building less than five minutes from my house. He howled his protest on the short drive over. They gave him some pain medication to help with some dental issues that hopefully will help him eat better. They also did a blood test. When I brought him back home, Norma freaked out, likely from the different smell coming from her brother. The rest of the afternoon I had to keep the two of them apart otherwise Norma would hiss and growl at him.
Alias and Norma’s appointments were late in the afternoon. I tried to strategically bring out their carrier but both ran away at the sight of it, even though they’ve only been in it twice, last year for their vet visit and the time I brought them home from their foster home. I coaxed Norma to come over and I got her in the carrier. I coaxed Alias to come out of hiding but when I tried to put him in the carrier Norma got out and ran away. I was able to coax her over to me again, this time I tried to put her in another carrier. She was having no part of it. She hissed and scratched me and ran away. So I brought Alias to the vet by himself. He howled at the top of his lungs the entire time. But he checked out healthy. I had to reschedule Norma’s appointment for the weekend. I’m going to have to figure out a strategy to get her in the carrier.

MOL! The joys of rounding up cats for a Vet visit !
As I am the only cat, mum has no problem scooping me up...dang it!!
I think you need to be very sneaky with 3 cats!
Purrs all of you are healthy and extra purrs for Theo.
Purrs, Julie
Getting cats into carriers is probably one of hardest things to do! I hope Theo feels better and the pain med helps. Glad Alias checked out okay.
