Staying Together

I watched the Vikings game next to a kitty pile. It’s unusual for Kenta to nap with Alias and Norma. Then Alias got up and it’s even more rare for Norma to snuggle with Kenta. Things didn’t end well… a slap fight with Kenta throwing the most punches most to the top of Norma’s head. But Norma got the only hit to the nose before fleeing

Feline Rescue

I’ve been volunteering with a cat rescue shelter for over a year. It’s the same shelter I adopted Diego-San, Thompson and Theo from. I don’t actually volunteer at the shelter but screen applicants who are interested in a cat living in a foster home. 

My latest assignment is Koi. I’ve screened about a half a dozen applicants but all have decided Koi wasn’t the right cat for them. He has a biting history that began when his original home added another cat, a dog and a couple of kids. One of the kids yanked his tail and his behavior became much more aggressive ever since. He also has feline herpes (Theo suffered from that as well) which is contagious to other cats. Diego-San and Thompson both suffered from the respiratory virus but Alias and Norma never have.

The latest applicants are a married couple who lost one of their cats a few months ago to cancer. They felt the remaining cat would do better with another cat in the home. They visited Koi yesterday and the visit went well. They are going to adopt him!

Best Friends Reunited

I found Porky, Kenta’s favorite toy who has been missing since before his scary health scare. He loves carrying Porky who is either a porcupine or hedgehog to different spots in our house. I have always brought Porky back to other cat toy containers and Kenta always grabs his pal and leaves him in a different place in our house. I thought we lost Porky because I looked everywhere and I couldn’t find wherever Kenta brought him to. Then, this weekend I found Porky. Kenta has yet to bring his friend to what he considers a more appropriate place but I’m 100 percent confident our game will continue…

 

Let's Stick Together

If we both live long enough, Alias and I are on pace to equal or succeed Diego-san's and my alone time together. More alone time with me than any soul on this earth. I do hope that happens. Alias is such an appreciative in the moment guy. He's taught me lots.
 

What’s Up?

Things are looking up for Norma Jean. Weekend snuggles are currently in the forecast. 
 

Learning from the Masters

When it comes to peaceful napping, I have a lot to learn from my housemates.
 

Remember

It's hard for me to remember day to day life with Thompson, Diego-san and Theo even though we spent so many important days together. I'm doing my best to appreciate day to day life with Norma, Alias and Kenta better. 

 

Sweet Dreams

I spent my Labor Day napping with these two. The only thing that would have made it better was if Kenta joined us.

The Disrupter

Norma loves to race me upstairs from the kitchen and she hops up on my desk chair so I can't sit down. Eventually I'll nudge her onto my desk. She's very good at preventing me from getting any work done.
 

Mindless Chatter

Alias has no idea that I don't yammer around people as much as I yammer to him. He's a lucky boy.
