Abandoned

Back from a five day trip to Madison, WI for a conference and meetings. It was my first out of state trip since Jan. 2020. I was worried about leaving Theo since his routine has become a bit complicated the past two years. No need to worry. It was like his old personality returned for a while as he happily greeted the food lady, kissing her on her arms and legs and eating just as much of his food as when I’m home. He even played with a catnip toy with her.

Alias and Norma on the other hand took time to acclimate to a strange person in their home. They had only seen one other person here in two years. Norma runs and hides from that person and Alias eventually comes out to check her out. Same thing with the food lady. Both hid under the bed. Alias’ hunger finally overcame his fear during her second visit. It took Norma two days to figure out she wasn’t going to get fed once the food lady left. By the end of the week both were their playful selves chasing each other and playing with toys with the food lady.

And oh, the conference was pretty good too. I made them laugh. Madison is a great city.

Good to hear that the cats finally accepted the food lady.
I think we cats really do like having people around.
After all, they feed us!

So glad things went well with the cats while you were gone. But I bet they’re happy to have you back.
