Thompson

Thompson skipped all his meals Sunday and Monday morning when I got out of bed he didn't join the stampede downstairs to breakfast. I brought some food up to him with treats and he did eat the treats but skipped the rest of the meal. I feared this was another onset of his failing health getting worse but yesterday he ate his meals and seemed OK... I hope it was just a temporary loss of appetite...

Tuna is another possible help with appetite. Fancy Feast? Human meat baby food? Anything he will eat is okay. You could ask vet about possible prescription canned foods or appetite stimulant. Have you considered sub-cutaneous fluids? You could learn to do that at home. Do you know how to check if he is dehydrated? Pull up a large pinch of skin. If it bounces back, he's okay. If it doesn't, he needs fluids. Fluids can really perk up the appetite.Thinking good thoughts for Thompson and you.
