That's probably better than giving it a whack, because it might whack back and chaos would ensue.
And did you realize black cats are special? I mean, besides being loved, they also, due to their coloration, are more immune to disease! We have 7 inside cats, 2 are pure black, 1 is tuxedo. Our Baby looks like Thompson, and he is a plush doll.
