We have crazy neighbors who fire the things off for two weeks before and at least a week after the 4th for the grand amusement of their kiddies. It's against the law in Maple Grove but the cops let it slide this time of year. Then there was the year they saved up a bunch of them to shoot off in the dead of winter for a couple weeks at a time just to liven things up. Poor frightened Shaggy & Scout high tail it into the basement they get so scared. They are kitty corner across the block but it sounds like its right on our deck!!! Grrrr.
