The past two nights I slept in the basement rather than my upstairs bedroom. The vet advised trying to avoid having Thompson go up and down stairs. The basement was the best option for this since there are a couple of litter boxes down there and the boyz generally like to sleep in the same room as me (lord knows why). Two nights ago I left the door to the basement closed so Thompson hopefully wouldn't be tempted to go up stairs during the middle of the night. (Theo who never met a closed door he didn't think should be open spent much of the night trying to get out of the basement).
Last night I left the door open. Both nights I left Thompson sleeping on the couch and by the end of the night/beginning of the morning he found his way over to the bed and slept on my legs. Last night he still wasn't up to getting up and walking to his meal or anywhere else. But this morning when I went upstairs to take my shower by the time I was done he had found his way up two flights of stairs and to his usual outside the bathroom door location. He even then followed the horde down the stairs to the kitchen for breakfast.
I'm really hoping whatever it is that is bothering him was a temporary thing and things are getting back to normal.
Gosh I hope so too! If he fell he must have really tumbled HARD.
ReplyDeleteI hope he's feeling better soon. By any chance has he had a distemper shot recently?
ReplyDeletehe had one early last spring but no shots recently.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's good news. We sure hope it was something temporary, too, and he's on the mend now.
