Questionable Gesture
I don't think this is Thompson's way of flipping me the bird. He's much too nice a boy to do that...

Rip Van Theo
Theo thinks the nap he took the other day must have been a little too long- our weather went from winter right into summer. That's too bad because spring is usually such a nice season around these parts.

Whatever Happened to Molly Ringwald?
I went to hear Molly Ringwald sing at a local jazz club last night. She recently released a CD of jazz standards. Growing up I of course had a crush on Molly so it was fun to get to see her. The local press wasn't so kind about her performance but I had a good time and it was fine dinner music.

A Little Adventure
I've got a confession... Last week I took most of the week off from work. The only thing I had on my calendar was Thompson and Diego-san's annual visit to the vet. So Wednesday morning I got up early and tried to act non-chalant as not to stress either one out too much. When the time came I got them loaded up in their carriers and into my car. Both boyz (particularly Thompson) made it known they were not pleased with this turn of events.
I struggled getting the two carriers into the vet's office. Diego-san's carrier actually broke and he could have run away but he was too scared to try (he was actually trembling inside the carrier). When I walked up to the front desk the vet tech looked at me with a puzzled look. Turns out the boyz's appointment was for Thursday and not Wednesday... D'oh!
So the three of us returned home. Theo was as wound up as Thompson and Diego-san probably thinking we had abandoned him. I knew I couldn't put the carriers away because if I were to repeat the activity I would have a hard time fooling the two boyz again and one of them would probably find a hiding spot beyond my reach.
So Thursday I first tracked down Diego-san and thankfully Thompson was apprehensive but reachable. Thompson doubled his vocal displeasure this time, making some sounds I don't think I've ever heard in my life before.
The good news- this time we had an appointment and both boyz checked out fine.
And apparently I was forgiven for my bad mistake- both Thompson and Diego-san took naps on me when we got back home and I put a movie on to watch...

Grass Isn't Always Greener
This picture was taken before our latest snowfall. I guess for Diego-san it doesn't matter if the grass is green or white other than the windows won't be open under one of those conditions.

Understanding
Diego-san feels so misunderstood. He understands that some people want to understand his thought process but he'd prefer if they would understand he doesn't want them understanding what he is thinking. He just wishes people would leave him alone to do and think as he wants. Understood?

New Cuisine
One of the new things being served at Target Field (where the Twins play) is goat burgers. I've never had goat meat before so I thought I'd give the burger a try. It was darn tasty but I couldn't stop bleating afterward. I'm sure the boyz would have loved it had I brought home a sample for them...

Yes Theo
Yes Theo I have tickets to today's Twins game. Yes we got 7 inches of snow a couple of days ago. Yes I might come home looking like an icicle.

Better than Ballet
I love watching Thompson move. A lot of time getting from point A to point B seems to be akin to coming to the edge of a cliff and making up your mind that it's OK to jump over. You can see the gears in his head preparing the rest of his body and then boom, he'll get his legs moving in coordination as his body lurches ahead. It's usually easier for him to move quickly than it is for him to move slowly so his natural walk has a hurried up rhythm. This video is a short demonstration of that.

If the Word Fits....
I was talking to myself (as I often do) complaining about how this winter has really been "stubborn." Theo's ears perked up thinking I had honored him with a new nickname.

Shadows
Thompson seems to remember that the groundhog did not see his shadow this year meaning we're supposed to get an early spring. Our forecast has potentially "plowable" snow tomorrow. Thompson thinks this is what happens when you rely on an inferior species to make weather predictions.

Doing Our Taxes
Diego-san thinks that there is nothing more taxing than his brother's relentless energy. He suggested to me as I was doing my taxes that rather than waste sending money in, we ship Theo off as our tax payment.

Simple Misunderstanding
Theo didn't understand that when I said I wanted to take a close up picture that I meant that I (the photographer) would do all the work. He didn't have to worry about moseying up to the camera to get as close as possible.

Different Strokes for Different Folks
Diego-san likes to lurk around corners because it gives him safe and stealthy observation capabilities. He needs to know everything that is going on in his house at all times. Theo on the other hand likes to lurk around the corner so he can jump out and surprise whoever should appear next...

Stupid Cold
Thompson is hoping that one of his colleagues didn't eat the bluebird of spring thus postponing the arrival of spring forever...

As the Fur Flies
Just another example of brotherly love... Gotta say Diego-san shows an impressive right/left combo toward the end of the video.
