Thompson had a bunch of mats on his neck and chest. He hates to be combed, but he let me pull them out with my fingers. It must not have hurt, and must have even felt good to get rid of the mats because he was purring the entire time I was working on them.
I'm going to have to figure out a way to get him to accept some form of combing.
I wish I had some suggestions. Both Boodie and I are okay with being combed.
ReplyDeleteWe all love getting brushed, but JJ has mats and mum is always trying to get them out.
ReplyDeleteSometimes JJ is ok with it and sometimes not ;)

I hate to burst your bubble, but cats don't just purr when they are happy. They also purr to self-sooth if they are injured or in pain. I learned that when I picked up a stray cat that had just been hit by a car and had a broken jaw. The vet explained. Happy ending though, I found his owners and they were thrilled to have him home.

Maybe if you start off real slowly...let Thompson sniff the comb...and give him lots of treats.
