Music Week

Last week, a sort of spontaneous vacation week, I went to two concerts: Elvis Costello and Cher/Cyndi Lauper. Both concerts were entertaining and all three artists were energetic, funny, and worth the price of the ticket.  For a 68 year old Cher looked and sounded fantastic. She still can belt out a tune.

Skunk Eyessss

Thompson feels quite comfortable giving me the skunk eye. He knows his brother has his back (and is giving me the skunk eye as well).

Party Canceled

I took a few days off starting last Thursday through today. How come sometimes I was made to feel like I was interrupting the boyz's schedule?

Another Milestone Met

I ride a Genuine Buddy scooter during the summer.  I try to ride it as often as I can to work. My roundtrip distance between home and work is about 40 miles.  I've had this scooter since the summer of 2007 so hitting 25,000 miles is pretty impressive I think. (My standard joke is just think where I'd be if I hadn't taken any turns and had just gone in a straight line...) The scooter gets over 90 miles per gallon so it's probably paid itself off over the years...

Thompson's Philosophy

Life is a series of steps. Sometimes you go up, sometimes you go down. Sometimes when you're not sure which way to go you stop, plop yourself down, and rest for awhile.

Not Always Appreciated

I'm sure the boyz would agree living with me is a hoot, one big party after another... That said, I'm not sure they always appreciate my lone redeeming personality trait- my sense of humor.  A good example? I was driving home the other day behind a, shall I say, erratic driver. The driver who was talking on his cell phone, wasn't adhering to staying in a lane, wasn't using turn signals, and was going much slower than the rest of the traffic. I was getting a little agitated and when the driver came to a complete stop for no apparent reason, I tried to let fly my true feelings.  I changed the word I hurled at him in mid-thought... I originally was going to say "moron" but decided to switch to "idiot." Unfortunately the word that came out of my lips was "midget." This really seemed an inappropriate put down but I had to chuckle.  I shared this story with the boyz when I got home but they apparently didn't see any humor to the story.

Another Milestone

This is our blog's 3000 post (and all of them have been witty, clever and well thought out of course). If you would have told me when we started out all those years ago that we'd hit number 3000, I would have laughed uncontrollably for days thinking I wouldn't make it past 25. I'm just thankful the boyz have remained relatively healthy during this time and that they provide daily reminders of how lucky I've been to have such great housemates.


The boyz and I do want to send out our most heartfelt thanks to all those who have read the blog over the years and particularly those of you who continue to do so (for who knows what reason).  We really never expected to have any readers, just started the blog on a lark with the goal of having a mechanism available to force me to write something on a regular basis. 

Extra Extra

I told Theo we are revealing big news tomorrow. He's hoping it has something to do with getting an extra meal every day...

Good Enough

He may not be quite as proficient at 'chillaxin' as Diego-san but Thompson knows a thing or two about the more conventional relaxin.
