Internet Cat Video Film Festival

Wednesday night I (along with 10,000 others) attended the second annual Internet Cat Video Film Festival. It was fun although I must admit about half way through I was thinking I could be at home with the boyz and they would be more entertaining...

False Choices

I asked Thompson if he preferred I gave up my guitar lessons and started twerking lessons instead.  He was afraid to answer.

Weather Whiner

We had a really late start to summer this year with cool temperatures extending into the beginning of July.  We're making up for it with a vengeance now.  It's been in the high 90's with very high humidity for the past few days and little relief in sight.  I'm not especially fond of this weather but if it means a late winter this year, that'd be just fine with me. Diego-san really doesn't care one way or the other. He's snuggly in all temperatures.

Health Update

Thompson is moving around a little bit better than he was earlier in the month. He still sometimes seems hesitant to jump off the sofa but he has no trouble going up and down stairs and still occasionally jumps up on the bathroom vanity to drink water out of the tap- a jump Theo refuses to try. I've taken to helping him down from high spots and the sofa but don't know if I want him to become dependent on me for things he can still do.

Etiquette

The boyz don't realize that if they would tip their waiter, then the waiter might be more inclined to provide dessert after the main course is gone.

Thompson's Health Tip

Vertical resting isn't as relaxing as horizontal relaxing but it does require the use of a few different muscles.

Architectural Thoughts

The view out the window is nice and all but it would be a lot better if there was a skylight with a view too.

Old Best Friends

Some of us find better friends than smelly moccasins.

Theo's new best friend is my moccasin.  He's been sleeping with it every night.  To each his own I guess.

Tentative Resting

I think Theo knows he's walking, well sitting, on thin ice. Diego-san loves to sleep in this hammock and Theo is contemplating whether he wants to give his brother yet another reason not to like him.

Early Cat Guy

I told the boyz to notice I maybe enthralled by the dog on the floor but I'm actually holding a cat in my arm.

A Sacrifice He's Willing to Make

I bought a new guitar. I think it sounds much better than my old guitar. Diego-san thinks I brought home a great box, but is willing to give up his spot if I'd only put the guitar back in the box and stopped making that terrible racket.

An Eye Opener

Theo read all the kind comments left for his ailing brother and was surprised to find out that people are much kinder than the dork he has to live with.

Handy Work

My nephew came over to help me install a new front storm door.  We followed along on a Home Depot You Tube instruction video.  It wasn't exactly the quietest process so the boyz scattered pretty quickly when the drilling began.  (I was glad to see the speed at which Thompson was able to scamper away).  Diego-san, as is his nature, was the first to return and did a pretty thorough inspection of our work in progress before I relegated him to the basement. It's nice to have a storm door that actually stays shut.

Empathy

I told Thompson even though I much prefer his ambulatory self I could certainly also understand his period of immobilization.  Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and not like moving much too.

Our Imitator

Sunday is always a good day to catch up on your 'Kilroy was Here,' impersonation.

The Order of Things

Diego-san loves his brother and all, and he's actually been quite nice to Thompson the past week but he hopes everyone realizes that the spotlight should always still be on him.

Routine Again

Things are getting close to being back to normal.  Thompson is close to returning to his old mobile self.  He's still a little wobbly but at least he's up and about more.
