Extraordinary Cats

Finished watching the movie "Ordinary People" (I had never seen it before).  I told the boyz we should make our own feline version. The boyz indicated they weren't interested since there was nothing ordinary about them.  I guess I had to agree.

Things That Bring Brothers Together

Observing more snow falling... I've noticed over the past month or so Theo and Diego-san are spending more time together.  Diego-san has become more tolerant of being in the same room as his brother.  Theo has become less insistent on swatting at, licking, or otherwise harassing his brother at all times... I doubt they'll ever be best of buds but peaceful co-existence seems like a good step forward.

Thompson thinks if you were expecting to see a picture of him sitting in a box you're crazy. He'll happily let his brothers fight for a spot in a box. He'll take a warm bed any day...

Good Morning

I was woken up yesterday morning by a hard swat from Diego-san right across my face.  I don't know if he did it deliberately but he likely won't do it again anytime soon... My reaction was to yelp and send us both airborne about 50 feet in the air...

Heat Seeker

It was eleven below zero when I went to work yesterday.  Inside the house was chilly too and Theo found the warmest spot to be his brother's belly.

I have the day off from work because of the national holiday. Diego-san suspected I was playing hooky so I had to explain to him my office was closed and I still was getting paid. No worries about paying for that next bag of food....

In Yo Face

The term "in your face" has harsh, negative connotations.  There's nothing harsh or negative when Theo is in your face...

The Art of Relaxation

Thompson is an expert at relaxation techniques.  Here he demonstrates that often it is important to find a resting spot that's at a bit of an angle. This frees up one arm/paw rather than having to rest one's head on that arm/paw.  The freed up arm/paw is available to help you look more cute.  The head has a comfy spot to lay and being at an angle allows the neck to rest comfortably.  The only disclaimer to this relaxation technique is that if a brother shows up and wants to share the resting space, all bets are off and you might have to choose another technique.

Cleanliness is Next to...

When one spends a lot of time around one's brother, one wants to make sure that brother smells good.  Sometimes aggressive bathing is a must...

Forced Tardiness

Well this was new... As I'm getting ready to go to work in the morning I always try to keep track of where each of the boyz is. Diego-san is usually upstairs. Thompson is usually on the main level and Theo is usually in the kitchen.  On this particular morning I found Thompson on the stairs.  Since I'm constantly going up and down the stairs in my morning preparations his choice of location slowed me down some as I had to make sure not to step on him.  A few minutes later Theo joined him on the stairway.  I think the master plan was to try and make me late for work...

The Smell of Democracy

The house smells like bacon and eggs.  Thompson is waiting for his fair share.

Full Alert

Somewhere in the world a fellow cat is being fed.  Theo is on full alert to determine where that is happening and how he can go about getting to that location.

A Proposal

Thompson has decided we shouldn't rely on a lousy old groundhog to determine the length of this winter.  His proposal is when the traditional Groundhog's Day arrives that the duration of winter will be determined by his sitting up and seeing if he sees his shadow.

Curses

There's a squirrel in the tree taunting Diego-san.

Uneasy Alliance

They aren't usually allies but when it comes to certain issues like a desire for some food, they can manage to reach a bipartisan agreement.

Selected Snuggling

One of the many mysteries of Theo is that he is very selective where he wants to snuggle with me.  He rarely sits on my lap when I'm in the living room.  Perhaps he knows that his brothers fight for the choice location (if anyone can call my lap choice) in that room.  He almost never fights for snuggling position when I'm in bed, instead letting Diego-san claim the spot on one side of me and Thompson the other spot.  When we're all in bed Theo seems to want to snuggle with Thompson more than anyone. 

However when I'm downstairs watching TV, Theo does whatever he can to get the prime position on my tummy or chest.  He'll nudge his brothers aside if need be to get this position.  The other place he wants my attention is when I'm in my office typing on the computer.  He'll almost always jump up in my lap when I'm in that room.  The other two boyz are far less selective when it comes to where they want lap, chest, or tummy time. 

I'm Looking At You

I was doing some writing on my computer and intentionally ignoring the little face I knew was peering up at me.  It's very difficult to resist this little face and I really wanted to get some writing done...

Better Than a Seinfeld Episode

I tell so many funny jokes all day long that Thompson just can't help but laugh...

Not So Ready for Prime Time
