Turns out Diego-san had an abscess on his tushie and a slight fever. The vet said the abscess was likely caused by one of his brothers (not that I would ever name the prime suspect's name... Theo...) biting him. She gave him some anti-biotic and sent home some oral anti-biotic. $124 later we were back home, safe and sound. I may have to supervise Theo and Diego-san's 'together' time more closely. That might be quite the chore however given the size of our castle.
Exactly what happened to Shaggy when Scout was younger. Scout (it is assumed and never disputed) bit him on the butt. He hid behind the couch where he never goes unless something is wrong, wouldn't eat (which for Shaggy is unheard of). I let it go a day (which by that point was probably several since the actual wound happened.) The next day I found him hiding in an out of the way corner behind stuff and knew then that it was an abscess he had because it had burst, with icky bloody pus all over the place. When I saw that I didn't panic because I knew what it was because of my childhood cat.Wrapped in an old t-shirt I took him to the vet. Some more drainage to clean it at the vet and antibiotics fixed him right up.
ReplyDeletePoor Diego-san.....you'll feel better soon honey with the meds in you. Brothers are nasty sometimes aren't they.
Talk about a pain in the a--!!
ReplyDeletePoor Diego-san, we're sending him big purrs.
Oh, and Johnny is Western Unioning a case of temptations to bail out you nekkid Human...
Diego-san, tell your human that our Ess isn't the name brand Ess. It's the Wal-Mart version of it. Same thing, costs less. We didn't use it much until mom moved it into the middle of the room. Keep your paws crossed for that tax refund!
ReplyDeleteWe hope he recovers very quickly. Must have been painful.
ReplyDeleteWe are purring that Deigo-san heals quickly. We bet he'll be keeping an eye out for Theo, too!!
