We got a ton of snow yesterday. Norma and Alias were fascinated watching it fall from the sky. They also got to hear some choice words from the food/shovel guy.

Furnace

Our furnace went out last Thursday right as temperatures severely dropped. I put out space heaters and bought a new furnace that was installed on Friday much to the chagrin of Norma and Alias (all the noise). But at least we have heat again albeit now we have a huge hole in our pocket…
 

Theo Update

Theo had a trip to the vet to get blood drawn. He was deep in a nap when I nabbed him to put in the carrier. He was none too pleased. He’s gained a little weight since his last visit so that’s good.

Big Brother

Before I brought Alias and Norma home, I told Theo he was going to be a great big brother just like Thompson and Diego-san had been for him. It’s taken a while for Theo to warm up to his new siblings but more and more he’s taking naps with them, particularly Alias. This was as close to cuddling as they’ve gotten and to see it, melts my heart…

Comfort

Theo has been doing some things he rarely has done during our 17 years together and they make me happy and sad. He’s never been a lap cat yet these days he wants to sit on my lap a couple o times a day. And he’s rarely joined me in bed but for the past few months when I wake up in the morning he sleeping next to my side. I’m glad I’m giving him comfort but I’m sad it means he isn’t feeling like himself.

Theo. Update

Theo’s appetite has returned with a vengeance. All he wants to do is eat, which has been his lifelong obsession. Unfortunately no matter how much I feed him, he still seems to be losing weight, a symptom of hyperthyroidism. Still I’m glad his love of food has returned.

Our office had a ‘cutest pet’ contest as part of our charitable giving campaign. There was an entry fee and a fee to cast votes. I submitted this picture but didn’t pay to vote. They finished second to a cute dog wearing a cute outfit. I think they were disappointed they didn’t win so I didn’t tell them i didn’t even vote.
