The boyz's grandpa turned 90 years old this past week.  Our family had to move my dad into an assisted living facility last winter after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Every time I visit my dad he still asks how the boyz are doing.  The boyz and I send out a very happy birthday to their grandpa...

There's an old song called 'You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To' that's been covered by many artists.  My favorite version is from the jazz singer Shelia Jordan.  I think she might have been picturing this when she performed the song because Thompson sure fits the bill.

My siblings did a nice thing for my birthday.  They gave me a gift certificate so I could buy the electric acoustic guitar I've been eyeing all summer.  I ordered it and it supposed to be delivered today.  They boyz might not agree it was such a nice thing my siblings did.

It's Way Too Early

We got our first dose of winter yesterday with heavy snow, a terrible commute and now frigid temperatures. Diego-san doesn't understand why I got even crabbier than usual.

Fifty

The boyz watched me officially turn 50 years old yesterday.  I don't feel a day over 65.  Diego-san helped celebrate by urping up his breakfast.  Theo ran around like someone set his tail on fire.  Thompson sat on my lap and purred away.  In other words, for such a milestone day, it was much like any other day in our house.

My guy, Bob Dylan, played three shows at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Minneapolis this past week.  One of the shows was on election night so I couldn't go.  Thanks a lot Bob. I did go to the final two shows and quite enjoyed myself.  I splurged and bought a front row seat (very pricy) for the last show.  To quote one of his songs, "I’ll see him in anything so I’ll stand in line..."

A little bit crazy work week.  From last Saturday to this Saturday I ended up working 70.5 hours preparing for Tuesday's elections.  Needless to say this was a bit disruptive to the boyz's schedule...
