Squish

This strip seems applicable to my own home situation because we have a toilet that won't stop running so I have to turn on and shut off the water every time it is used... My plumbing skills are below rudimentary...

Since you said that your plumbing skills were under rudimentary, here is a rudimentary suggestion. Have you tried lifting the tank lid and pushing down on the flapper? The flapper is the little rubber thing that fits over the hole in the bottom of the tank. The cartoon is great.

In our house, there is one toilet that sometimes doesn't stop running. My Mommie just jiggles the handle thingy. That usually works.

It looks like our house sometime. We actually had toilet water run all the way through the living room and out the door. But...was that a fun day!
